Bloodsoaked Necrovoid – Bloodsoaked Necrovoid [EP]

Artist: Bloodsoaked Necrovoid
Country: Costa Rica
Label: Iron Bonehead Productions
Formats: Cassette EP
Year: 2026

With a considerable discography under their belts, with which they collaborated with labels such as Caligari Records, Blood Harvest and Iron Bonehead Productions, Bloodsoaked Necrovoid should be no stranger for those who are into slow and heavy Death Metal. The guys from Costa Rica/Spain are now back with a new EP that was released on cassette tape by Iron Bonehead Productions.

Aside from a self-released rehearsal tape from 2023, this is the first sign of life since the Seed Of Doom released split EP with Astriferous that was released back in 2021. Whether or not this long wait has to do with the band moving to Spain and/or the individual bandmember’s rather extensive list of other bands and projects, I don’t know. But at least I can tell you that those who have been waiting for new material for five years will not be disappointed. That also means, if you weren’t really impressed by them before, you will not be now either.

In other words, their musical formula stayed the same. Meticulously the same, I would say. Their low-and-slow kind of approach is still somewhere between Incantation on the one hand and diSEMBOWELMENT on the other. the guttural vocals and long-drawn out riffs with that idiosyncratic touch of melancholy, the latter’s presence is especially undeniable. A clear example of the further development of the sound that Paradise Lost first introduced on their first two albums. Although clearly more Death Metal based than, for instance, Evoken, This is still something that will appeal to fans of both extreme Doom Metal and Death Metal.

With only two songs with a modest length, at least compared to diSEMBOWELMENT, this would have been an excellent fit for a 7” EP. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, but I suppose those who are interested would not mind getting this solid return EP on cassette tape either.
