Kiloton – Ruine Radiante

Almost simultaneously with the ‘Swine Slice’-EP Kiloton also assumed we, poor humans, were ready for even a full-length release of this rotten and totally degenerated Black Noise. Even if ‘Ruine Radiante’ is just over half an hour, it feels like being ran over by a nuclear freight train…

At the risk of repeating myself, Kiloton again demonstrates that it is not for the faint-hearted or lovers of fine art. Once again, the behemoth races through its playing time and it is hard to keep track of where one song stops and the next one begins. ‘Ruine Radiante’ is more ferocious than ever, like a rabid wolverine it screams and rages around like a lunatic. Yet, it is in the slightly slower parts that the music gets truly terrifying. It is at these moments the deep rumbling low-end gets more prominent and the blood chilling vocals full of rage and hate come out even more furious.

Musically, this is again close to wild and unbridled energy of Ride For Revenge, but with the more stripped-down approach the music also has a bit of that bareboned spirit of the Punkish sort of Black Metal. One could think of Akitsa or Ildjarn doing a drug-infused jam session with Death Worship and Absolute Key.

Just as with the ‘World War V’-compilation (WolfKult Religion): it is a grandiose display of creative noise, a true sonic onslaught, but after having been relentlessly beaten silly, I think I will put ‘Somewhere In Time’ on my turntable…
