There’s filthy black metal, and then there’s filthy black metal. And this is the superlative on the scale of filthiness. Heavy Satanic black metal in the rawest and most simplistic way possible.

Mütiilation is cult, pure cult. A band with a history, and not just another band from the French black metal scene. The French black metal scene is widely known for raw black metal bands such as Sombre Chemin, Vlad Tepes, Belenos, Blut Aus Nord, and Antaeus. The raw black metal of these acts goes hand in hand with everything that is cliché and standard in the current black metal scene. Corpsepaint, limited editions, an evil image, and pretty poor production. Now Mütiilation has the leading position in that French scene and has released a number of albums in the past (“Vampires Of Black Imperial Blood,” “Remains Of A Ruined Dead Cursed Soul”) with truly sublime quality that have certainly earned respect in the underground scene.

This new CD, “Majestas Leprosus,” picks up where the previous one left off (not counting “Remains Of A Ruined Dead Cursed Soul,” because those recordings were already ten years old and therefore did not contain any new work). So we continue with the mechanical sound that was already so familiar from, among others, “Black Millenium (Grimly Reborn)”, a raw sound with a good dose of noise and a sinister atmosphere.

Destroy your life for Satan!
