Well, what should I tell you about Necrophagia? This band should need no introduction, the band has already more than earned its stripes in the metal world, led by the lordship of Mr. Killjoy (also known from Viking Crown, The Ravenous, Wurdulak etc.). Therefore, any self-respecting goredeathmetal fan will be familiar with this band. This time the band comes up with a more solid lineup with the surprise for me being Iscariah (ex-Immortal) and Mirai Kawashima.
This CD actually sounds like all the other more or less recent Necrophagia work and can be purchased by fans without listening. And as always, it has become another deliciously foul disc, infused with ponderous low-pitched riffs, rolling drum parts, and Killjoy’s awesome vocals. However, a slight change can be heard this time in the form of keyboards. No need to worry about running into all sorts of annoying Children Of Bodom, Cradle Of Filth or Dimmu Borgir scenarios. These are dark compositions that support the music well, unfortunately they are quite often pushed away by the sometimes too prominent guitar violence. All in all, I think it’s a great CD, full of aggression and horror, and will be spinning many more rounds in my CD player.
