After a couple of demos Superchrist released their first full-length CD in 2002 but I missed all of them, so this 2003 “Back & Black” is the first acquaintance with this band. And, that is a real shame for I like this band to the bone, I will definitely try to get the previous stuff as well. And it is a relief to know that a new album is coming up within a few weeks. I really like to hear more of this stuff…
So, this is the second full-length and it is a self-financed album, which is rather strange to me for the music kicks some major ass and I’m wondering why no label isn’t interested in signing this band. The band plays directly in the vein of bands such as Motörhead, Iron Maiden, Rose Tattoo, AC/DC, Venom, Peter Pan Speedrock, Turbonegro, Zeke and Nashville Pussy to name a few of such rock n’ roll bands with a decent heavymetal or bluesy vibe. And this is one of those bands that keep the valuable standards of “Sex, Drugs And Rock N’ Roll” high as can be. That statement is underlined with songtitles such as “Stand Up And Shit”, “Frano Fucked Yoko Ono” and “Thunderpants” and with the covers of Motörhead (“Poison”) and Iron Maiden (“The Trooper”). Interested people should try the MP3’s (links can be found in the tracklist below) and buy this CD for just $5, what the hell are you waiting for?
This is such music you have to play loud and don’t give a shit! Old, Fast And Hard !!
