Red Right Hand Of Plague / Warslaughter – Split 7″ EP

Artist: Red Right Hand Of Plague / Warslaughter

Year: 2025

After the release of the ‘Descent.Parasite.Abominator’ 7” EP that was released earlier this year and the ‘His Womb’-demo a few months prior, one of the scariest one-man acts from the USA returns with a split 7” EP, released on his own Elf Eggs label. He teams up with Warslaughter from Spain, a band that has been releasing some savage stuff over the past years. In fact, this is a split that was doomed to happen as members of both bands also share a project called Great Tribulation. Yet, even without that concrete connection, these guys are sharing this deafening campaign for musical destruction.

Although the ‘His Womb’-demo tape, which was recently released on 12” vinyl as well, already gave a good idea of what Red Right Hand Of God was all about, I thought the following 7” EP was specifically rad. A thunderous mix of everything foul, a putrid grinding sound while also having a rather sharp-edged Black Metal side to it. The rather subdued production also felt extremely appropriate. These two new tracks, together totalling for about five minutes and a half, largely continue on the same path. Yet, on the overall sonic experience, this prolific musician seemingly tried to look at this project from another angle. That tastefully muffled sound is now traded for a far more punishing approach. Just like the guitar sound, the overall production is now significantly more piercing. It’s almost industrial-sounding; painfully sterile, like a knife through skin and flesh. But the rest of the musical escapades of Red Right Hand Of Plague are still very much in place; it is still all about controlled chaos, barbarous rhythms, rabid vocals, savage riffs and completely insane leads. In case you haven’t heard the band before, imagine a duel to the death between Revenge and Teitanblood. No survivors, that much is clear.

The warslaughterers from Spain have a rather busy resume that includes many other project and bands like Vastago, Krosscythe, the aforementioned Great Tribulation as well as running the Profaner Records and Black Noise Committee labels. And that experience shows. The band’s previous effort, the ‘Exacerbación’-EP, was released through a good amount of respectable underground labels such as Profaner Records, Elf Eggs, Morbid And Miserable Records and War Vellum. No surprise, because it was a rather merciless EP that marked the return of the band after having been disbanded in 2023. This one, rather lengthy track, clocking well over seven minutes, shows that ‘Exacerbación’ was no lucky strike. Their caveman take on the Black/Death Metal genre on this 7” EP is just as devastating. Compared to their split partner, Warslaughter is much more Death Metal oriented, and do feel like a blend between their compatriots of Proclamation and Black Witchery, but with a very significant grinding, almost Gore Grind, edge to it. Lethal as fuck and total bludgeoning.
