Label: Crimes Against Humanity Records / First Blood Family / Raw Noise Records
Formats: Split 7″ EP
Year: 2003

This split 7″ has got some strange story to it, it has been out since half 2005 yet it got spread in different stages. So, it might be that some people have this one already for several months, but some distributors/involved labels got them much later and if I understood it well Crimes Against Humanity Records still hasn’t got their share of EPs. So, I have no idea if everyone can have his own copy at their local dealers, but a little searching around will help you nevertheless?

Agathocles kicks off this split EP with three brandnew tracks, which is nice of course since a few of their last EP’s contains already released songs. Anyway, these three songs date back from February 2003. Not too much is to be said about this these three songs. Prety much in the well-known Agathocles tradition, which means raw to the bone raging old school mincecore. I actually had the idea that all the tracks from that session were already released by now, so it was a surprise that these songs were actually came from that particular recordings session. So, people who have a few of these recordings already know what kind of sound this Agathocles release has. It marks Agathocles’ new sound around that time, thanks to DNN who did the mastering job, I love that darker sound for sure. I’m looking forward to the new album which is set for a spring release through Displeased Records, keep your eyes open!

On the flipside we find German Bloodred Bacteria. These songs were orignally released on the “Transcendental Maggot” compilation CD through Meconium Records somewhere in 2001. But somehow these songs got fucked up as they were released in a different speed as they were intended to. I don’t have this particular compilation CD so I can’t compare both speeds, nor do I know whether they were faster or slower than it should have been. So, I’ll review the three songs as if they are brand new. Their music is best bescribed as fast punky and crusty kind of grindcore with pretty hysterical vocals. Not very much memorable neither is it annoying, just a nice listen, nothing more nothing less. For the information freaks amongst you, the last song (“Masturbate Than Liberate”) has already been released as “Onanie” on their self-titled 7″ EP before.
