This is a co-operation between two great Brazilian blackmetal hordes. Well, I can’t tell you anything about their background actually, I haven’t got a bio or anything else, and their websites do not supply us with a load of information. I just know they are both from Rio de Janeiro and recorded their sets at the same studio.

Well, about the main part then: the music. The tape starts with Darkest Hate, and after a short intro they blast in with a great piece of fast and furious blackmetal. This is one of the better acts from Brazil if you ask me. It sounds a bit like the better Swedish bands like Dark Funeral or Marduk, but with better vocals, and I actually like this a lot more because this band has more musical aspects and variety in its music. Great fast riffing and drums, people who like hyperfast blackmetal definitely should try this band! But the weak point is – you already guessed it, it’s not that original anymore. But who cares?

Black Winter Night is quite similar to Darkest Hate, but this band had a lot more atmosphere in its music. It has a more, well, doomy feeling than the other. This is more atmospheric blackmetal with keyboards, but this is never overdone. And it’s alternated with the faster parts, it’s quite a good mixture between melody and the furious parts of blackmetal. I think it this was really a war (as the title “Darkest Hate vs. Black Winter Night – From The Dark Flames Of The Christian Holocaust” suggests) then I think Black Winter Night would’ve won it.
