While digging around through my tapes, I came across another effort of the Portuguese culthordes Inner Helvete. This is the “Satanic Metal” split tape between Inner Helevete and Necrocult. Both bands supplying us in the most extreme underground blackmetal. This isn’t also that new anymore, since it was put out somewhere in the middle of 2002, but it still deserves a little attention. It’s still available anyway.
On the A-side of this tape we find Inner Helvete. Those cult warmasters don’t need an introduction I think. Every real blackmetal freak is familiar with and one of their releases. What they bring us this time is nothing mind shocking, we all know about their chaotic styled blackmetal. And this what can be heard on the tape, but the poor recording quality gives it an even more obscure and underground feeling then the music itself already has. And to me, this works. It gives a more haunting and freaky atmosphere. Really obscure stuff for the real insane blackmetallers!!
At the B-side we find Necrocult, to me there is not very much known about this band, since the little booklet enclosed with this tape doesn’t provide me of any practical information concerning this band. But musically this can be considered beyond insanity. Really fast blackmetal riffing combined with creepy Maniac-alike vocals gives a really sickening atmosphere. This together with the hyper fast drums (allthough they were done by a computer, that doesn’t make it any less sick). And here’s the sound quality not the best I’ve ever heard. But that’s good for the overall feeling and atmosphere.
