This is the day we have all been waiting for. The day that there would finally be a band that would call themselves Penis. Hallelujah! Well, okay, the band already released a demo and a split last year, but they only popped up on my radar with this new, short and aptly titled EP. However new, not really, as this was already recorded back in 2022, but it doesn’t sound much different from the band’s earlier output at all.
In only seven minutes the band catches the true essence of blistering Thrash Metal, Punk and the bestiality of Black/Death Metal: fast (programmed?) drums, sharp edged riffs and brutally bellowing vocals. In doing so they find themselves in the middle of bands like Impaled Nazarene and Sadistik Exekution on the one hand and Warcollapse and Kriegshög on the other. Strictly unpolished and unrefined, utterly wild art that does not require many words – because they simply only cover the load to a limited extent. But if you are in for a crash course of a lethal collision between those two totally depraved and violent musical worlds, you should sign up with Penis.
