Hmmm, sometimes you come across something you really don’t understand. Sometimes it’s just utter stupidity, sometimes it’s just so badly played or sometimes people invent a style that just don’t fit. Primal Dawn belongs to this last group, well, that’s my point of view. Especially the first and third (also last) track really give me a strange feeling of an even more strange style of music, to me this sounds to a mixture between raw blackmetal (this is also what the CD-cover and inlays etc. Suggest) and (sXe) hardcore/metalcore (!!!). Quite a strange mixture actually, and not what I think of at the first place… Maybe I’m really wrong, and should I speak of a ‘point of few’ instead of a ‘point of view’, but I think it didn’t work out very well. The second song is something better, with less low-tuned guitars and less hardcore-vocals. Overall, the technical level of the musicians isn’t really high, but that shouldn’t be a problem. And what really annoys me are the bad vocals, and I do not mean the style but the way this singer grunt/screams. It sounds forced and really annoying.

As far as I know this is the first effort by this Primal Dawn, so there is nothing to worry about! It’s a long way to the top if you want to Rock N’ Roll.
