From the ever thriving Danish Death Metal/Grindcore scene comes this new entity called Slovgh. A band that was more or less conceived out of the ashes of Wayward Dawn that found its end somewhere last year. The duo behind Slovgh are clearly tapping from different veins here though, where Wayward Dawn was a bit more of a (honestly unimpressive) traditional Death Metal band, Slovgh evidently is a tad more nasty in nature.
With its low tuning, slow and primitive riffing, basic drums and pitchshifted gurgling vocals Slovgh is striking that subtle mid-point in between Mortician-like Death Metal and a full-on Goregrind attack. Combining the two genres is, of course, nothing new, but when it is done the right way the result can be very persuasive. And such is definitely the case with these two guys from a small town in the Midtjylland-region. It is therefore little surprising that they found a home at the Copenhagen-based Extremely Rotten Productions label, a notorious place for everything sounding foul and depraved.
This 6-track EP, only clocking merely over 7 minutes, is presented on a cassette tape and is currently lined-up for a release on a 7” EP as well. So, any of you who loves to have their Death Metal savagely grinding, or their Grindcore barbarically Deathish, should wait no longer and sign up for this tasty piece of swinging gore.
