Syphilitic Vaginas have been releasing quite a pile of obscure vinyls and tapes over the last three-or-so years. And though it might come as they are from Japan, they are actually from Sweden. But every blind (and deaf) mongoloid would be able to see that this is a total Japan-worship band. There are several rumours about this band, they are said to be Japanese people moved to Sweden or that one of them is actually in Netjajev Society System. Whatever they are… the music does the speaking.
And it does. Musically they balance on the line between basically all extreme musical genres. There is a lot of punk, black metal, speed metal, heavy metal. Comparing them is rather hard but it has that Japanese vibe that we find in bands like Barbatos, Tiger Junkies, Abigail, Cut Throat etc. but a song like “In Devil Night” does have the very epic heavy metal sound that is very much reminiscent to ancient heavy metal bands like Chastain and Picture. It all blends into a chaotic kind of sounding EP, as epic as “In Devil Night” might sound the more raw is “Scream Evil”.
Definitely a fun listen and it is a relief that there are (again) some bands that don’t give a phuck and play whatever they think is cool. Thumbs up for bands like Barbatos, Dishammer, Blüdwülf and… Syphilitic Vaginas!
