With this self-titled debut demo, this young Czech band presents itself to the world. Although the Filth Junkies Records label is involved, a physical release seems not yet been realised, so in case you are interested in some old school filthy Death Metal, then you will have to make do with the digital version.
Although Temora might not exactly be on par with the bands that seemed to pop up like mushrooms around the 2010’s, I still get a bit of the same vibe as I did back then. Temora offers Death Metal with a good amount of dynamics, some meaty, choppy almost Thrashy riffs, a grinding edge and, not in the least, a good dry guttural vocal delivery. In short, some Death Metal with enough bite to wake up those who fell asleep with all the current-day “Death Metal”.
Largely based on the legacy of old Autopsy, before they became a boring self-replicating machine, the Czechs would’ve fit very well within the scene as it emerged at the end of the 00’s and the early 2010’s. Bands like Miasmal, Vampire, Maim and even a hint of such bands as Krypts and Stench Of Decay is to be felt. The secret of a great Death Metal demo is basically twofold. First up there is the riffs that should play centre role, there’s no need for layers and layers and layers of mega down tuned guitars, there really is not. Second, for get grooves and repetitiveness, those nice and fat Thrashy riffs give the music its dynamic character; plus, don’t forget that little bit of Grind in there. Many of the best first wave Death Metal as well as those from the turn of the 2010’s had all this. Of course I am not sure, but it seems these young lads have been dissecting and analysing the best of the best stuff for their own blueprint. Their knowledge of their national history is evident in the closing cover song by Gride, which also gives you you your obvious Grind edge. That they know their national history is evident from the closing cover song by Gride, then you know where they get their Grind from.
