With one name even harder to pronounce than the other, this is definitely a split tape for enthusiasts. Which enthusiasts, you may ask. But those who know, know. Vräztrébrëzkré in particular will make many connoisseurs’ mouths water. Even if they have never heard this specific project, they know exactly what they are getting. Those who are willing to make the effort to search will find a lively scene with acts that all have similar names. All are an ode to the deepest regions of Les Légiones Noires, where projects such as Brenoritvrezorkre, Vagézaryavtre, Dvnaèbkre and Vzaéurvbtre enjoy an untouchable cult status. For those who want to plunge into this, be prepared for mostly raw and sometimes almost unlistenable Black/Noise.
This split tape too is one such homage to such bands that makes Abruptum feels like kindergarten music. Both of these acts hail from the USA and belong to what they call the Necrosaint Worship Circle, an international high society of like-minded musicians who take Blacknoise as their true religion. Both acts have their “musical” roots in the foundation these French bands laid in the second half of the 90’s, but might also appeal to the more raw and impenetrable stuff from acts like Mons Veneris, Vetala or Forbidden Citadel Of Spirits/Carved Cross.
After the hype that surrounded bands like Sanguine Relic, Black Cilice, Orgy Of Carrion and Lampir, the international spotlight was aimed at a lot of these Raw Black Meal bands, but now that buzz faded away, there’s only a few of those bands left. The survival of the fittest, so to say. But, if you happen to (still) be into these bands, the aforementioned ones, but also Drekavac, Starcave Nebula or Eerified Catacomb, then this might as well appeal to you. On this split tape Vräztrébrëzkré especially has something extraordinary to offer, these two tracks are not only some of their best, but the almost melodic part towards the end is a great twist and worth the tape alone.
